Built around patient decisions

Google Ads for Med Spas

Nobody has to book. Every patient you lose is lost to hesitation, not to the clinic down the road — which means the account's real job is converting people who were going to wait another year.

What is Google Ads for Med Spas?

Google Ads for med spas is paid search built around treatment timelines and recurring biology — capturing countdown searches before weddings and events when patients need to know how far ahead to book, separating maintenance treatments from high-ticket body work, and measuring the account on retained patient value rather than cost per consultation.

Why it matters

Aesthetic decisions are not made in a mirror. They are made against a date.

Almost every first aesthetic appointment traces back to something on a calendar — a wedding, a reunion, a milestone birthday, a photograph that is going to exist whether they book or not. And every treatment worth having needs more lead time than the patient assumes.

Ten weeks out, and the timeline decides

  1. WEEK 10

    The dress fitting is booked

The date has been in the diary for a year, but the fitting makes it real. Photographs are going to exist. This is the moment an idea becomes an intention, and it happens on an ordinary Tuesday evening.

  2. WEEK 10, THAT NIGHT

They search a timeline, not a treatment

“How long before a wedding should you get Botox.” Not “Botox near me.” They have already decided to do it — they are only trying to work out whether they have left it too late.

  3. WEEK 10, TEN MINUTES LATER

Whoever answers honestly gets the consult

An event-related enquiry needs clinically reviewed planning guidance and an assessment of the individual situation. Explain how to arrange that consultation; do not advertise a universal safe treatment deadline.

  4. WEEK 8

And the consultation is not about the wedding

They came in for one treatment before one event. They leave with a plan, and they come back in January because it has worn off. The wedding was the reason for the first visit and nothing after it.

The event created the appointment. The consultation created the patient — and everything the practice earns from them over the next three years was decided by whether anyone bothered to answer a scheduling question.

The auction

Neurotoxin wears off. That is the entire business model.

A first treatment may lead to repeat visits or other appropriate services, but it may not. Measure completed treatment and repeat revenue by cohort, and let clinical assessment determine care rather than assuming a universal re-treatment cycle.

So the account is priced against retained patient value, and the consultation is treated as what it really is — the one appointment that determines whether you have a customer or a transaction. That is what lets you outbid a franchise competing on unit price.

Stats that prove it

Your competitor is bidding on one syringe. You are bidding on four visits a year for three years. It is the same click.

    The campaign mix

Separate campaigns when treatment economics, intent and booking paths justify their own budgets.

Aesthetics demand arrives as a countdown, a concern, a price comparison or a major commitment. The price comparison is the one everyone bids on and the only one you cannot win profitably.

    • Search — timeline and event

      The overlooked one

How far in advance for a wedding, when to start before a holiday, how long results take to settle. The patient has decided to treat and is only scheduling. High intent, low competition, and a fraction of the cost of treatment-name terms.

Answer the question properly on the page before asking for the booking. Honest lead-time advice converts because it is genuinely useful — and because nobody else is providing it.

    • Search — treatment and concern

      Core spend

Specific treatments and the concerns behind them — fine lines, volume loss, skin texture, unwanted hair. Concern-led queries convert better than brand-name treatment terms because the patient is describing a problem rather than shopping a product.

Avoid the per-unit price fight. Bidding brand terms against franchises with better buying power is a race you lose on economics, not on marketing.

    • Search — high-ticket body and device

      Where the margin is

Body contouring, laser resurfacing, device-based packages worth thousands. Long consideration, financing questions, and a landing page built around outcomes and process rather than a booking button.

Ring-fence the budget. Injectable queries convert in days and cost less, so on shared spend they will consume everything and the package work never gets bid.

    • Local Services Ads (Google Verified)

      Where available

Category availability for aesthetics varies by market. Where it runs, the verification badge does real work for a patient choosing who to let inject their face — a decision where credentials matter more than in almost any other local service.

Confirm current eligibility for your market before planning around it, and treat it as a floor rather than a growth channel.

    • Performance Max and remarketing

      Constrained by policy

Meaningfully limited, and honestly so. Health-status targeting is restricted, which rules out the audience tactics used in other categories. PMax has some role for elective, non-health-framed creative around events and seasonality.

This is policy, not preference. Anyone promising condition-based remarketing for aesthetics is describing something that will be disapproved.

    How it works

Our 4-Step Process To Scaling With Google

Four steps between your account today and a channel that pays for itself. No step is skippable — you cannot scale spend on a funnel nobody has proven yet.

    01

    Deep audit

We reverse-engineer every dollar you have already spent — every search term, bid adjustment and quality score. Auction insights get cross-referenced against what your competitors are doing, so you see exactly where the budget leaked before we change a single setting.

    02

    Campaign architecture

Every campaign, ad group and keyword gets a structural job. Search captures the demand that already exists. Performance Max finds buyers you never knew to target. Local campaigns own the map pack in the service areas you actually cover — and nowhere you don't.

    03

    Optimization & tracking

AdFury AI watches the account around the clock — mining negatives, flagging wasted spend and drafting the next move. The judgment calls stay human. Every phone call is tracked, scored and tied back to the campaign that produced it, so lead quality is a number rather than a hunch.

    04

    Scale & report

Once the funnel proves out, budget moves toward what is already converting and away from what is not. Spend, leads, calls and revenue land in one place instead of four dashboards that disagree. Weekly reviews, quarterly recalibration against your P&L.

    The platform

Every Google Campaign, On One Surface

    Why us

Why med spas hand us the Google Ads account.

We build the account around the practice’s actual service mix, availability and patient acquisition process. The review connects campaign decisions to booking and revenue definitions.

    • Most of your lost patients did not choose another clinic — they chose to do nothing. Campaigns are built around the moments that break deferral: a date, a photograph, a milestone, a first-timer's fear finally answered.

    • Price comparisons can favor a different business model. Test treatment, provider, availability and consultation messages that explain the real service, and evaluate qualified outcomes rather than assuming price-led traffic is always poor.

    • Aesthetics patients often tell nobody. The referral flywheel that grows a dental or medical practice barely turns in this category, which is why acquisition cannot be treated as a top-up to word of mouth.

    • A first-time patient is afraid of looking overdone and of being upsold. Pages that name those fears convert deferrers; pages that lead with a price do not.

    • We will not run Google Ads for the practice down the road. Your budget bids against your competitors, never against another one of our clients.

    • You own the ad account, the conversion history and the landing pages. Leave whenever you like and all of it stays yours — we earn the retainer monthly.

    What it costs

How should a MedSpa evaluate the investment?

Start with the practice’s actual numbers, the work required and a clear measurement definition.

Media budgetBuilt from your goalsAvailable appointments × target acquisition cost, tested against local demand and contribution margin.
Cost per attended consultationA defined denominatorAd spend divided by attributed first-time patients or attended consultations; separate management and technology costs.
Completed treatmentTrack the next stageAn enquiry or scheduled appointment is not delivered treatment or collected revenue.
Repeat and household valueMeasured cohortsRecognize realized repeat revenue and referrals; label projected lifetime value as a scenario.

Planning framework, not an industry benchmark. GrowthKey performance ranges require a documented dataset, period, market and denominator before publication.

    From strategy to implementation

How do we measure MedSpa campaigns beyond the lead?

A cheap enquiry can still be expensive if the patient never attends. Treatment intent and the consultation-to-treatment funnel should determine the account design.

Give treatments room to prove their economics

Separate injectables, laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation and body treatments when their budgets, patient questions or conversion goals differ. Botox, filler, microneedling and laser searches are not interchangeable. The first task is to verify which treatments and drug terms may be advertised in the target country and through which campaign features.

    • Search terms and negatives. Review training, jobs, DIY kits, wholesale products and treatments the clinic does not offer. Assess price and comparison searches against consultation quality instead of rejecting them automatically.
    • Treatment landing pages. Explain the service, provider, location, pricing basis and next step. Distinguish a consultation request from a confirmed appointment and from clinical approval for treatment.

    Use the whole consultation funnel

Track lead → qualified lead → consultation scheduled → consultation attended → treatment completed → collected revenue → repeat revenue. Define each stage with the front desk and CRM owner so a reschedule, cancellation or duplicate cannot inflate performance.

    • Find the actual constraint. High enquiry volume with weak bookings suggests an offer, contact or qualification problem. Bookings with poor attendance suggest expectation, scheduling or reminder problems. Attendance with low treatment acceptance needs a separate review.
    • Budget from treatment contribution. Set targets using margin after provider time, product and delivery costs. Count repeat treatment revenue only after it occurs or label it as a scenario. Membership revenue and treatment purchases must not be counted twice.

Expand campaigns without losing measurement or policy controls

Keep brand separate from acquisition reporting. Test geographic reach against real travel patterns. Add standard Performance Max only with a clean conversion setup, reviewed assets and destinations, and a clear incremental objective. Injections and other health-sensitive services restrict advertiser-curated audiences; switching campaign type does not remove those rules. Do not send treatment interests or patient records to advertising tools.

    • Are MedSpas eligible for Local Services Ads?. There is no blanket MedSpa category in the current U.S. list. A genuinely eligible dermatologist, facial spa or other supported business must qualify under its accurate category and location. The pay-per-lead Performance Max migration does not remove those checks. Confirm the actual account before choosing that route.

    Questions

    Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about running Google Ads for a med spa — tight enough for AI to lift verbatim.

Work backward from available appointments, contribution margin and the cost per attended new patient or completed treatment you can support. Build a test budget from observed conversion rates and clearly labeled assumptions; separate media spend, fees and fully loaded acquisition cost.

Timeline and concern queries. “How long before a wedding should I get Botox” and “how to soften fine lines” convert far better than brand-name treatment terms, and cost a fraction as much — because the patient is describing an intention or a problem rather than shopping a price.

Sparingly. Brand terms put you in a per-unit price war against franchises with better buying power, and the patient searching a price is choosing a discount rather than a provider. Bid them where you can win on something other than cost, and put the budget weight on concern and timeline queries.

Injectables and body-treatment enquiries may have different margins, decision times and consultation paths. Use those differences to decide budget separation, then verify performance. Do not assume a universal CPC or conversion-speed relationship.

Far less than in other industries, and this is policy rather than preference. Google restricts personalised advertising based on health status, which rules out most condition-based audience targeting in aesthetics. We build the account around that limit instead of running tactics that get disapproved.

Use is constrained and varies by asset type and market — this is one of the most commonly disapproved elements in aesthetics advertising. We design landing pages and ad assets to work without depending on them, so a policy review does not take a campaign offline.

It runs on a countdown, not a calendar. Demand builds ahead of wedding season, holidays, reunions and summer — and because treatments need lead time, the profitable spend happens weeks before the events themselves. Budget should rise while competitors are still waiting for the season to arrive.

Where the category is available in your market, the verification badge does real work — a patient choosing who injects their face weighs credentials more heavily than in almost any other local service. Eligibility varies, so confirm it before planning around it, and treat it as a floor rather than growth.

Timing depends on demand, account readiness, budget, availability and the treatment decision. Establish a baseline and review the whole funnel; do not judge success from early lead volume or promise a fixed booking timetable.

Never in the same service area. Exclusivity is the point — we're bidding your budget against your competitors, not arbitraging between two clients.

Two numbers, reported monthly: cost per booked consultation and cost per retained patient, with the enquiries attached. Consultation count on its own is reported as a diagnostic — it is the number that makes a practice with poor first-visit conversion look successful.

It's yours. You own the ad account, the conversion data, and the landing pages — we build in your house, not ours, and earn the retainer monthly.

How much of your market is still deciding to wait?

A free Google Ads audit: which countdown queries are unclaimed in your market, how much of your spend is fighting a price war you cannot win, and where the deferrers are hiding — no commitment, yours to keep.
